November in North East and its getting a bit bleak weatherwise... but there's still plenty of produce around

The Northumbrian Hill lamb, the pork and the beef are excellent - and there's game to be had - with the pheasant season starting

Last chance to get your orders in for free range turkeys too! (If you wanted a goose for Christmas - you really should have ordered it last February or March)

Seasonal veg include carrots, potatoes, swede, neeps - but also Winter greens, broccoli and early sprouts

The shellfish season along the Northumberland coast is in full swing - some lobsters and langoustines might just find their way to local markets rather than being whisked off to continental markets

More crafts stalls are appearing at the markets - some good ideas for Christmas presents - and the food producers are taking orders for Christmas.

The hens, ducks and geese are still laying well - plenty of free range eggs to be had.

And of course - there are always the great Northumbrian cheeses, ham, bacon, sausages
